The Trust is directly accountable to its corporate membership which is predominantly of Community Councils (most of whom are already members) but also includes the main housing and land-for-housing interest groups in the Highlands. The Trust's A.G.M. is held in Inverness in September.
The Trust has a Board comprising 8 appointed, 6 community-elected and up to 2 Co-opted Directors, It is supported by its Company Secretary and Chief Executive and has a range of specialist advisers available to it as required. Community-elected Directors are nominated by Community Councils or Trusts and stand for election or re-election at the A.G.M. The Board meets 7 or 8 times a year.
