Many of the site which are bought (landbanked) by the Trust are subsequently sold on (with the approval of the Community Council concerned) to Registered Housing Associations – particularly Albyn Housing Society which is much the biggest Housing Association operating in the Highlands.
In the last 12 months the Trust has sold on 8 sites to Albyn Housing Society which will enable them to build over 50 new affordable houses for rent in the following communities:
- Gairloch
- Gorthleck
- Kiltarlity
- Kinlochewe
- Kishorn
- Scourie
- Shieldaig
- Torridon
And previously the Trust has sold other sites to Albyn Housing Society at Applecross, Dores, Maryburgh, Shieldaig and Torridon all of which now have high quality houses for affordable rents built on them, which are meeting local needs well.
