The Gathering 2020
Last week, John Forbes our Community-Led Housing Officer and Development Officer, Anne McMichael exhibited at the 'Gathering 2020' in Glasgow. Read the full event summary below:
Scotland’s largest event for charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations took place at the SEC Glasgow on the 19th & 20th February 2020. Community Housing Scotland were represented and interacted with a large number of social enterprises, government agencies and members of the public from across Scotland.
The Gathering is the largest free voluntary sector event in the UK, a place for all the amazing people working in the sector to network, showcase what they do and learn from each other. 3,000 visitors explored the Gathering’s bustling marketplace, workshops, seminars and training opportunities.
Community Housing Scotland took the opportunity to carry out a survey during the course of the event in order to record opinions in relation to community led and will use the data gathered to inform their work, raise awareness and shape their support for community groups wishing to explore housing options in their areas.
Opinions sought for non-residents of Laggan for potential housing
Community Housing Scotland is currently undertaking a Housing Needs Survey in Laggan for non-residents to determine opinion about the community and need for housing from those with a connection or interest in the area.

Proposed housing development - Colonsay
We are delighted to be working with the Colonsay Community Development Company, having supported them on a recent application to the Scottish Land Fund. If successful the community will be able to acquire land and take forward their plans to develop affordable housing and business units on the island.
